Gideon Shoes Launch- when CakeFace met Kelly Cutrone

On Tuesday night I went to church, and quite literally my prayers were answered.
It was the official opening of the new Gideon shoes flagship store, and I was so lucky to attend.
The clever boys of the uber cool brand converted the original old stone church on Chalmers St into a super awesome haven to house their amazing designs.

Gideon shoes founded, created and kept alive by brother team Rupert and Matt Noffs is a force to be reckoned with. Their kicks are 100% Australian designed and made and most importantly sweat-shop free.
The boys are true pioneers of our time, apart of The Noffs Foundation team they started up the Street University in 2007, a retreat for kids off the street in Western Sydney, the ones who weren't given a chance.
Gideon shoes was born 2 years later with all profits going to sustain the drop in centre.
(doesn't that make you feel so warm and fuzzy inside)
Basically you need to get yourself a pair of Gideons, or we can't be friends.

A bevy of Sydney's style, celebrity, PR moguls and all up beautiful people were there to hold their Patron filled glasses up to toast the boys, but there was a special guest who deserves their own mention.
THE KELLY CUTRONE made her OWN way down to Australia to grace us with her amazing presence and be there to support the brand she will be representing in the US.

Not sure who Kelly is? .......
Well......(breathing in)
Not only is she the founder of Peoples Revolution, she is the BIGGEST queen maiden of the PR realm in the world, starred on The Hills, The City and has her own TV show Kell on Earth, author, mother and just down right knows her shit, and is freaking AMAZE-ING

Yes, yes yes! I actually got to meet her (cue jealously now) she was amazingly sweet, hugged me, and gave me her tips to break into the PR world.
(which I can't share)- kidding.
'Be passionate, and once you lose that passion inside of you, walk away.
Look to the divine spirit inside of you when all else fails.'

It just so happens that I've landed myself my first position in PR this week,
you know when those people say 'it was meant to be'
well it's all happening, and you couldn't wipe this smile off my face even with a sharp tool.
the end

Special mention goes to my amazing darling friend Darren (below) of BoyMoments. I was so super excited for him of all people to actually meet Kelly.
He is quite literally her biggest fan, head to check out his blog, his pics are rad and I adore him ever so much.

side plate note- I had a slight obsession with all these accessories at the soiree, the arm candy was too much to pass up a photo op! snaps for the good taste people.
enjoy enjoy!

don't know when I'll be back again

Before I departed little Adelaide I threw myself a little going away soiree, which was pretty much just an excuse to drink gin with my favourite people one last time.
It was at the Old Exchange on Grenfel St, which was Electric Light previously which had it's name changed from The Old Exchange years before... old with the old - and in with the old?

These are some happy party snaps.
You'll recognise a few familiar faces
eg Ferris, Kiki, Drewski, Pock, #Tash
and you won't recognise some new ones.

I was so humbled that people took the time to come say bye and give me a little hug.
Throwing parties for yourself usually are pretty lame and filled with that anguish that you will be left at the bar nursing a scotch looking helplessly at the door for a familiar face, or pretending to text on your phone... oh the horror.
Of course we ended the night at Sugar, which is a passing rite when you either leaving or returning to Adelaide...

what I wore
Alice McCall Tapestry Shorts (these are so bloody unflattering)
American Apparel Mesh Dress (the flash has over highlighted my ..er assets)
Mimco Bow Heels
Mac Rebel Lipstick (purple is the new red)
